Join us for a timely exploration of what sadly appears to be a new normal: migration and refugees. We are now witnessing the highest levels of displacement on record. An unprecedented 65.6 million people around the world have been forced from home. Among them are nearly 22.5 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18. (Source UNHCR)
We welcome a number of topic experts and practitioners who will share their experiences to open our minds, challenge our assumptions, provoke ideas and invite new ideas and potential collaborations. All over drinks and food in an inspiring venue: The Sekforde in Clerkenwell.
+ Tatiana Theme, Lecturer of Human Geography at UCL will share her latest work with refugee communities in France.
+ Selena Victor, Policy Director at MercyCorps will talk about their work to support refugees (and hosts) in ways that ultimately contribute to the self-reliance and resilience of individuals and communities. + Our colleagues at Business Fights Poverty will share their latest research challenge exploring how business can play a role in supporting refugee livelihoods and long-term resilience.
+ Anne-Marie Jonsbak and a colleague from Ben and Jerry's (TBC) will share their experiences mobilizing business to address this important issue.
